A History of Baxi
Richard Baxendale started the company in 1866. The first product to bear the Baxi name was a controllable underfloor solid fuel draught heating system launched in 1935.
Baxi became increasingly focused on the domestic heating sector throughout the 1950’s when Baxi became a familiar household name. Philip Baxendale, great grandson of Richard Baxendale, became General Manager of the Albert Street factory in Chorley in 1955, when the company employed 55people.
